Classic Canes Long Ash Knobstick - Reduced Scorched and Polished
https://files.ekmcdn.com/horseandhoof/resources/design/cclogo300.jpg A traditional British walking stick, the knobstick is made from coppiced wood, usually ash, hazel or blackthorn.  The original tree is cut back, and the resultant shoots form the raw material for walking sticks. The ‘knob’ handle is formed from the parent tree, so that the walking stick is in effect grown upside down.  A good knobstick fits comfortably into the palm of the hand.

3589L – Classic Canes Long Ash Knobstick, reduced, scorched and polished, 97cm
A very smart version of the traditional ash knobstick that has been grown and used in Britain for centuries.  Produced using the coppicing method, these sticks are formed from the shoot that grows when the upper part of a young ash tree is removed.  The bark is stripped away to reveal the bare wood underneath.  This is scorched with a flame to bring out the beautiful pattern of the grain and then the stick is polished. They are grown in the woodland of Classic Canes, in Somerset, England.   Height 97cm (38").  Fitted with a metal ferrule.
